Care and Feeding of Your Guitar

—The nitrocellulose finish is water resistant, so you can wipe it with a soft damp cloth when you feel the need to clean it.  You can use some of the specialty polishes and waxes but ensure none contain silicone.  If you should ever need a repair, the silicone will prevent glue adhesion.  NEVER leave it in a hot car or expose it to sudden drastic changes in temperature and/or humidity.  This will at minimum cause spider web cracking throughout the finish, or worst case, cause the wood to crack and/or split.  Low humidity (<25-30%) is the worst enemy may also cause the wood to crack.  Usualy indoor heating systems and air conditioners suck the moisture right out of the air—BEWARE.

High humidity will also impact the wood and cause it to swell, but this is not as detrimental as low RH, to a point.

Ideal conditions are approximately 65 -75 degrees, Farenheit and ~45% Relative Humidity.
